Uros Islands
Those islands are made of straw and reed. The community counts tens of islands where around 5 families live on each one. Those islands are located only 20 minutes from the city of Puno. The original indigenous doesn’t exist anymore, however, Peruvian people has continued the tradition.
The explanations were interesting in order to have an overview of the way of living.
Nevertheless, this tour sounded too touristic. The locals of the island were really annoying to make you buy things or take the boat tour. Also, the contact is not very sincere, you are really taken as a Gringo.
Taquile Island
Taquile Island is located further into the Titicaca lake. About more than 1 hour with a speed boat. The island is very gorgeous. I felt like being in South of France, even I smelt this classic pine tree smell.
The island is incredibly quiet. It was a nice time for relaxing.
My only disappointment was that we were always kept in a group with strict timing. We had no freedom to move freely and enjoy it. Again, it looked to be very done in a touristic way.
Puno
Not really, a beautiful city. However, it was my first touch with Peruvian culture. Overall, I enjoyed the food. The only funny fact was those taxi cars: small and tuned.
