After crossing the town Quilotoa, I enjoyed the first view of the lake. On top of that, the sun accompanied me all the morning. Not only the sun, there was also a lot of wind. Clouds were crossing the crater in 30 seconds!

My first trek was to go into the crater for seeing the water more closely. Although short, only 1.7 kms, the 300 meters of the level difference made it more challenging at 3800 meters of altitude.

After reaching the bottom of the crater, I took another trek. About 12 kms long that went all around the crater while keeping on the top of it. It was one of my favorite trek where I could see on one side the lake and on the other one the valley.

The trek was exhausting as it went always up and down. I didn’t expect that much.

Let's go to the peak of the crater: 3900 meters high

Finally, I did it and the sun was back!
