A city in the middle of the nature
Extreme sports
The small city Banos is surrounded by nature. It is a hot spot for doing extreme sports: rafting, canyoning… I was really up to do rafting force 4. However, the level of water was too high now and this circuit was closed. The other one was a lower level and by experience are not what I was looking for.
As regards to the canyoning, the simple one didn’t seem as fantastic as the one I did in Corse. The only one that could be good was further and overall too expensive.
Casa del Arbol
Finally, with Guillaume, we went to the Casa del Arbol. A private place with a nice overview of the volcano and the valley.
A great run
As I didn’t find satisfaction in the rafting, I went for a run. I climb a mountain in front of the town where you can see some antennas. After, I was rather surprised and proud of me. The level difference was about 900 meters between 1,800 and 2,800 meters. Definitely a great run.
The Tungurahua volcano overhangs all the valley
The volcano Tungurahua was 5000 meters high and almost not covered by snow. A few years ago, it was in eruption and throwing lava. At the beginning, we planned to climb it as there is a refuge at 3800 meters high. However, the bad and random weather discouraged us.
