I only stayed in Cordoba two nights during my transit from San Juan to Buenos Aires. I was looking for some Tango, but I didn’t find much about it. On top of that, it rained a lot. Thus, I didn’t visit the place as well.
My first Argentinian meal: Locro
My biggest surprise in Cordoba was that I finally discovered an Argentinian specialty. Why finally, because I tasted so much in the neighbor country Chile. The specialty is called Locro and it is more a winter meal as it is full of calories. I ate it in a nice restaurant called “Los Infernales”. I recommend the restaurant as the food is good and for a cheap price!
The meal is made of beans, corn, pumpskin and meat.
Some tips
Get cash
As I already told it before, getting cash in Argentina sucks. The reasons are the limit to withdraw (~150€) and the huge fee of the local banks (>5€) for each withdraw. During my stay in Mendoza, a french couple told me about Azimo. Azimo is similar to Western Union. You send money to somewhere and the beneficiary can recover the money. The advantage is the fee, very low compared to the other services. Moreover, the first time transaction is without the fee. Finally, by sponsoring friends, both will earn 10€ on the next transaction.
Find a bus ticket
If you are looking for a bus comparator in Argentina. Have a look at Central de Pasajes. On top of that, you can buy the ticket from the website.
